Here's a little tip for you.

If you put the Frauehofer IIS MPEG Layer-3 Codec (L3codecp.acm)in your
Windows/System directory and an entry in your

[drivers32]
msacm.l3codec=l3codecp.acm

section in your System.ini Sound Forge can load, save and edit MP3 files.
